Johnson Matthey Introduces Its New Line of Bulk Purifiers...Adding State-Of-The-Art Features for Advanced Performance

WEST CHESTER, PA, December 12, 2005 – Johnson Matthey's Gas Purification Technology (GPT) group announces the introduction of its newest line of palladium membrane based bulk hydrogen purifies. The new GPT Series will replace the HTG Series, which has been the bulk purifier of choice for LED manufacturing.  The GPT purifiers have new features that enable purification of inlet gas quality as low as 99.99%. The global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of state-of-the-art bulk and point-of-use (POU) purification systems has made significant design improvements in gas system features and the control system.

"It is our goal to continually improve the performance, ease-of-use and reliability of our industry-leading line of bulk purifiers," said Stuart Bestrom, National Sales Manager of Gas Purification for GPT.  Some of the design enhancements include a compact, single cabinet design, PLC-control with a touch screen interface and the incorporation of our patented V-Purge System. The control system has been combined in the purifier cabinet to reduce the overall footprint of the purifier. The touch screen interface makes it easy to operate the system and to quickly view important operating parameters as well as alarms and alarm history.

Most importantly, the GPT 20-40 bulk purifiers have been fitted with the patented Johnson Matthey V-Purge System.  First used on the HP Series POU purifiers, the V-Purge System quickly and effectively purges the purifier during start-up, shut-down and power failure.

Johnson Matthey's purifiers have been used in silicon and compound semiconductor applications for over 40 years.  With gas purity needs becoming more stringent, the demand for Johnson Matthey purifiers is consistently expanding within many industries. "As the demand for our products increases, so will our efforts to improve and enhance our purifiers," explained Bestrom. "We are committed to Johnson Matthey being the technology leader with the most advanced, effective and highest quality purification systems."
