With the continued downturn in the LED and Semiconductor markets, Johnson Matthey has decided to exit the gas purification market. This relates to gas purification for bulk gases using palladium membrane, heated getter or regenerable catalytic purifying technology. The result will be the closure of our manufacturing facility in West Chester, Pennsylvania. As a consequence, we will begin to wind down operations at our Gas Purification Technology (GPT) business with immediate effect.

Johnson Matthey GPT is no longer accepting any orders or offering any proposals for gas purification equipment.

Please be assured that Johnson Matthey continues to stand behind its warranty obligations for previously purchased products.

There have been a few reports in the Semiconductor press regarding the closure of Johnson Matthey’s GPT business. Our business supplies specialist purification equipment to the LED and Semiconductor markets only.

We wish to stress to customers of Johnson Matthey’s gas processing catalysts and absorbents business, which principally serves the oil, gas and chemicals sectors, these activities are in no way related to the company’s GPT business. Johnson Matthey remains committed to supplying you with the highest quality products and services.
